Happy National Park Week! What’s your favorite National Park and why?? _ Badlands isn’t our *favorite* National Park we’ve ever been to, but it’s an extraordinary place, and we had it all to ourselves in the off season. Which puts it high up on our favorites for the lack of crowds 🙌🏽 Getting to experience National Parks during their off season can dramatically change the overall experience and first impressions of a park! Hope everyone is able to get out and enjoy a National Park before the summer crowds and heat arrive! _ Big thanks to all the National Park rangers that keep the parks clean and help educate the visitors of each park! It wouldn’t be possible without you guys 💚 #slowcarfasthome
The first picture is from 2016, it was the day Tommy drove our new [old] RV from Seattle back to Denver, where we were living at the time. We had no idea what we were doing, but without hesitation, without thinking about it for too long, the following day we let the office of our apartment building know we would be ending our lease in the next few months. _ There are still days that we can’t believe we have actually done it, that this is our life. Everything we said we would do, and how we would do things...it was all attainable after all—it wasn’t just an out of reach dream. _ Makes us wonder what else we can do with this life, seems like anything is possible, right?? #slowcarfasthome
If you know us, or have met us on the road, whether we are new friends or old friends, you probably know we try not to take ourselves too seriously. We don’t love being the center of attention or being the subjects of photos. In the 9 years we’ve been dating, we probably only have a handful of photos worth framing 😂 These are the photos we love the most though—so, here’s to not taking photos of us seriously, and enjoying the actual moments. There’s something about all these silly imperfect photos that makes me smile. And this is pretty spot on for us, one of us is always laughing or taking a sip of beer mid-photo and the other is just counting the seconds until we can stop being the focus of attention. _ If you’re planning a trip to Baja, we still have some copies of our Caravan The Baja e-book available! When life feels a little overwhelming or the noise of everyday worries clutter the mind. This is the day I think back to. Having this body of water to myself, and the sound of a gentle flow of water against icebergs, and the crystal clear blue water lapping against all that obstructed its path, and again, sharing this lake with icebergs...It was all so surreal; it was too good of a moment to be true. I let my mind drift to the silence and wonder of floating on this lake... #slowcarfasthome

We’ve hit another 6 month milestone on the road! We’ve been bopping around North America in our Slow Car Fast Home for 18 months now 🙌🏽 _________________________________________________ The first two weeks were the hardest for us, and we thought for a moment maybe life on the road wasn’t for us. As with anything that’s worth having or doing, the transition period was just plain hard! We spent 8 months renovating our Toyota, so we would dream daily about the views we’d see from this window. We built up this hype about all of the amazing places we’d visit and this gorgeous life with no in-between moments, no parking lot nights, and nothing but amazing views from there on out. And, that’s simply not the case with life in the road. So, with every milestone, we like to celebrate all of the beautiful places our little home has taken the four of us. _ Here’s 10 of our favorite livingroom views from Canada all the way to Baja! When we first hit the road, we spent a lot of time in the desert. I got used to the wide open spaces, cactus, tumble weeds, and red rock at every turn. One day I told Tommy that something about camping in the forest made me nervous, there’s just so many places for something to hide, and when you look up, the trees will be looming over us instead of an undisturbed view of the stars to peer up at. _ It wasn’t until we camped among the giants, that I realized the trees weren’t looming over us. We were sheltered by these tall beauties, surrounded by life, stillness, and that beautiful muffled silence inside the forest is now one of my most favorite sounds... #slowcarfasthome
